About ZigZagTees — Meet the Family
It all started with a whale.
On a whale watching trip off the coast of British Columbia, we spotted a whale the guides called ZigZag. She was playful, fearless, and full of life — darting through the waves, teasing predators, and clearly having the time of her life. We couldn't stop talking about her on the way home.
A little while later, we found ourselves at a shelter, planning to adopt one kitten. Just one. But when we saw two tiny seven-week-old sisters sitting together, we looked at each other and knew — we couldn't separate them. So we brought both home and named them after that whale we couldn't forget.
That was the best decision we ever made.
Zig — our resident fashionista
Zig is the lighter one — cream and warm beige, with the softest face and eyes that somehow always look like she's plotting something adorable. She has an undeniable sense of style. Put a little outfit on her and she owns it completely.
She also has a dream. A big dream. She desperately wants to be a shoulder cat like her sister. Every single day she tries. Every single day it ends in chaos, scratches, and us laughing until we cry. We have never once seen her give up. We love her for that.
Zag — our queen of the shoulders
Zag is the dramatic one. Bold silver and brown tabby markings, intense eyes, and an expression that says she has already decided she is in charge — and she is right.
She is also our certified shoulder cat. Sit, stand, dance, run — it does not matter. Zag is on your shoulder and she is staying there. Take her outside and she will survey the entire garden from that shoulder like she owns every inch of it. Which, in her mind, she does.
Zag also loves to talk. About everything. All the time. We have learned to just listen.
Life with Zig and Zag
Our house runs on ping pong balls. We keep a full supply because Zig and Zag are obsessed — we play soccer with them every day and they take it very seriously.
Every afternoon we take them outside for fresh air. They love it out there. They just refuse to touch the ground. So we carry them — arms only, no putting them down, no exceptions. Zag does her garden inspection from the shoulder as always. Zig rides in arms and judges everything with those big curious eyes.
They have never spent a day apart since we brought them home. Sisters first, cats second. You can see it in the way they always find each other — in every bed, every chair, every photo.
Why we started ZigZagTees
In 2025 we launched ZigZagTees — a graphic tee store built around the idea that what you wear should say something about who you are.
We have 2,000+ designs across American and Canadian cities, animals, sports, travel, humor, and more. Every tee is printed fresh when you order and shipped to you across the US and Canada. No big warehouse. No corporate machine. Just us, our cats, and a genuine love for what we do.
